TakeAim Devo Teams 2024

Welcome back to another year of TakeAim Devo! 

 

Our goal is to provide a program for Junior Mountain Bike Athletes to excel in all gravity disciplines through our enduro training program. We believe in a long term approach to success and strive to build resilient athletes who achieve both fun and performance at the same time. 

 

The TakeAim Devo Program Goals

  •  Build well-rounded, lifetime athletes through education and diverse experiences. 

  •  Give riders skills to have fun and be safe in and out of competition. 

  •  Prepare riders for competition regionally and nationally. 

 

2024 Team Structure

For 2024 TakeAim will offer Five new levels of support and camp opportunities! 

We create different levels of support and flexible training to allow riders to choose their level of commitment or accommodate their budgets. 

 

  1. Elite Training Program

  2. TakeAim Devo Race Team

  3. TakeAim Devo Shred Team

  4. Elite Gravity Camps

  5. DHSE racer support.

 

New Options for 2024: 

  • Elite Training Program 

  • Two Elite DH/Enduro Camps: 3 days each.

  • DH Race Team: Coaching and Support at Downhill Southeast events.

new Elite Training Program: $155 Month

 

The ETP is for more dedicated downhill and enduro racers looking for a training plan to take them to new levels of success. This program is for those who are ready to put in the extra work with a like-minded group of other riders. The plan can be a stand alone or added on to the Race or Shred Teams training.

 

Includes

  • Monthly Training Plan and online coaching from Luke V. Coaching out of Charlottesville. 

    • Starts January 6th- November 2024

    • Group Calls Every 2 Weeks (Exception with some holidays.) 

    • In Person Power Testing for the team once a year. 

    • Custom Team Workout Plans with adjustments for each rider. 

    • Sport Specific Strength Training Workout Plans

    • Skills Focused Workouts from TakeAim Cycling

    • “Basic” level Training Peaks account for each rider. 

    • Workout analysis using Power, Heart Rate, and Other Data

    • Advice on Fueling, Pacing, Mental Tactics, Recovery, Stretching and working with Power and HR.​​

    • Membership is Monthly and can be cancelled at any time. 

  • Not Included: 

    • Membership to the Race or Shred Devo teams. Apply Separately. 

    • Race support. 

    • Entrance to camps. 

 

new Elite Gravity Camps! $700 each

  • Two Training Camps a Year. Either Windrock or Ride Rock Creek depending on weather. 

  • For Elite Training Group and Devo Race Team (also for approved non-team members)

  • Feb 9th-11th

  • March 29-31st

  • Includes Transportation from Harrisonburg, Lodging, Lift Tickets, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts. 

  • With Coach Ronnie and Harlan

  • Limited to 10 riders total. 

  • Expect tons of goal specific training and lots of riding! 

  • Topics: Include but not limited to. 

    • Bike and Suspension Set-up

    • Pacing

    • Line Choices

    • Technique

    • Nutrition

    • Strategy

    • Sports Psychology

new Downhill Southeast Race Support

As the team has grown there has been more interest in a Downhill team! The additional fees are for the added days and travel for coach Ronnie to attend the DHSE race series and the new pit fees. 

  • Fees:

    • $500 for Non-DRT or DST Team Members: 

      • Includes Jersey​

    • $200 for DRT or DST team members. 

  • Includes: 

    • Support at 5 DHSE events​ (3 additional DHSE events for team members.)

    • Pit Space: Prime space for the team at the heart of the action. 

    • Track Walks. For A and B racers.

    • On Track Riding time. For Cat 1, 2 &3

    • Strategy and Race Planning. 

The Devo Race Team Program (DRT): $1350

  • NEW! Early season practices and Charlottesville practice locations. 12 Practices total. 

  • For 13-17 year old kids who are performance focused in the enduro and downhill disciplines.

  • Practices will be three hours and the effort levels will be high.

  • The focus will be on fun and friendships, but everyone should also be eager to learn more about racing and practicing the components of race-craft.

  • To qualify for the DRT, riders must be able to ride 3-4hrs, hill climb for up to an hour, and be comfortable on steep, black diamond trails. 

  • Race support will be provided at 6 regional races.

  • 50% discount for the DownDuro Race series entry fee at Bryce Bike Park. 

 

The Devo Shred Team Program (DST): $950

  • NEW! Early season practices and Charlottesville practice locations. 12 Practices total. Race Support! 

  • ​For 11-15 year old riders who want to improve their riding skills for the disciplines of enduro and DH.

  • The goal is to develop as a mountain bike rider with a focus on gaining confidence on a variety of trail types.

  • Members of the DST will get discounts to the DownDuro races at Bryce Bike Park.

  • To qualify for the DST, riders must be able to ride for 2hrs, complete hill climbs up to 30 minutes long, and ride single black diamond trails. 

 

Included in membership for DRT or DST team:

  • Long and Short Sleeve Jerseys

  • Riding Pants

  • Water Bottle

  • 10% off private instruction 

  • 50% off DownDuro Race Entry

  • Siblings on the team qualify for a 10% discount

  • Race Support at 5 Regional Enduros and Massanutten and Snowshoe DHSE Races.

Program Prices:

  • Elite Training Program: $155 Month

Payments can be split if needed. 

Additional Cost Considerations: 

  • Programs do not include food, race entry fees, or lift tickets at practices. We have reduced the number of practices at Bryce this year. 

  • Sometimes we may offer other opportunities to the team members, like a day surfing or rock climbing. Riders will be responsible for additional costs if they choose to attend. 

 

Requirements: 

There are a limited amount of spots available on each team. Priority will be given to previous members of the team and those able to attend practices regularly!
