Service Description

Join us to explore the more remote nuggets in the National Forest! May 20th August 12th November 4th What is an "Open Shuttle Tour Day"?? The national forest is full of lesser known and harder to access trails that require more logistics to shuttle. On Open Tour Days we'll take you to these local nuggets that are some of the best trails in the forest. We reduce the group size and increase the skill threshold to make sure the group sticks together for greater risk management and flow. A typical itinerary could include: Start with Sugar Run (aka Death Star) 1-2 laps Drive to High Knob Trail 1-2 laps Road Run Trail (Aka Rifle Range) 1 lap Drive back to finish on Slate Springs (Red Diamond) and end at cars. Final trail choices will be based on time, conditions and group dynamics. -In the morning, park at the Hone Quarry Reservoir by 8:30am to be ready to go at 9:00. First run to the top is at 9:00. -Please note that the shuttle won't run, and you'll be refunded if fewer than 7 people book for a specific date. REQUIREMENTS: -Strong intermediate to expert skill level of riding. -Fitness level: Able to do a lap of Reddish/Wolf in 1.5hrs max. -GPS app. Routes are on TrailForks and MTB Project. -Helmets are required; other personal protective equipment like eye protection, knee pads and gloves are strongly recommended. -Any bike tools you think you'll need. -Personal first aid kit. -Personal supply of water and food for the day. Depending on the route, lunch might be eaten in the van while heading to another location. THE TRAILS: There is always some climbing or pedaling involved in the backcountry. -Fast trails; sometimes loose, rocky descents; backcountry singletrack with wider dual track or fire road; small sections of steep climbing interspersed with big downhills. -Equivalent of a single and double black diamond trails. -We scout and even do some work on the trails but we don't guarantee the conditions of any trails. In the back country the unexpected is to be expected! Ride with self care in mind! +SUGAR RUN (DEATH STAR) https://www.trailforks.com/trails/deathstar--1025/ + HIGH KNOB TRAIL: https://www.trailforks.com/trails/high-knob-trail-1024/ + ROAD RUN (RIFLE RANGE): https://www.trailforks.com/trails/rifle-range-234420/ + SLATE SPRINGS (RED DIAMOND): https://www.trailforks.com/trails/slate-springs/ -Tipping your shuttle driver for a job well done is appreciated :)
