Service Description

Join us to explore the more remote gems in the National Forest! August 12th November 4th What is an "Open Shuttle Tour Day"? The national forest is full of lesser known and harder to access trails that require more logistics to shuttle. On Open Tour Days we'll take you to these trails. We reduce the group size and increase the skill threshold to make sure the group is more cohesive and to maximize riding time. **You will need advanced to expert level riding skills. This ride is NOT for intermediate riders. You absolutely MUST know how to fix a flat and manage other common mechanical issues in the backcountry, and you MUST carry supplies to do so.** -Please note that the shuttle won't run, and you'll be refunded if fewer than 7 people book for a specific date. ITINERARY: -In the morning, park at the Hone Quarry Reservoir by 8:30am to be ready to go at 9:00. -Final trail choices will be based on time, conditions and group dynamics. Likely routes are Death Star, High Knob, Slate Springs/Red Diamond, Big Hollow. A favorite trail might get two laps. REQUIREMENTS: -Strong advanced to expert skill level of riding. **This ride is NOT for intermediate riders.** -Fitness level: Able to do a lap of Reddish/Wolf Ridge trail in 1.5hrs MAX time. -GPS app. Routes are on TrailForks and MTB Project. -Helmets are required; other personal protective equipment like eye protection, knee pads and gloves are strongly recommended. -Flat fix kit and backcountry tool kit. -Personal first aid kit. -Personal supply of water and food for the day. THE TRAILS: There is always some climbing or pedaling involved in the backcountry. -Fast trails; sometimes loose, rocky descents; backcountry singletrack with wider dual track or fire road; small sections of steep climbing interspersed with big downhills. -Equivalent of a single or double black diamond trails. -We scout and even do some work on the trails but we don't guarantee the conditions of any trails. In the back country the unexpected is to be expected! +SUGAR RUN (DEATH STAR) https://www.trailforks.com/trails/deathstar--1025/ + HIGH KNOB TRAIL: https://www.trailforks.com/trails/high-knob-trail-1024/ + ROAD RUN (RIFLE RANGE): https://www.trailforks.com/trails/rifle-range-234420/ + SLATE SPRINGS (RED DIAMOND): https://www.trailforks.com/trails/slate-springs/ -Tipping your shuttle driver for a job well done is appreciated :)
