April 22 May 6th June 24 July 8 Aug 26 Oct 21 What's this Hone Quarry area we speak of?? Most people have heard of the iconic Reddish Knob for its views and trails, but most people don't know that just across the road is another zone of local favorites. If you had to ask us what we'd rather shuttle, it would be this area most of the time. It's steeper and more technical than Reddish so though it's easier to drop in, the challenges are greater! A Hone Quarry shuttle day actually has more trail options as well easier climbs. Beware though! There is always climbing here in the backcountry; some are just more energy sapping than others. 1. Slate Springs (Red Diamond): Single Black Diamond: Highlighted by 1,900 foot of descending on trail in 2.2 miles. https://www.gaiagps.com/public/q75At6fCWiVE8AjuxRL0vtEL 2. Cliff Trail: Go further get rowdier! https://www.gaiagps.com/public/aUowApLwSXKkA7gBjzqWuxH9 3. Pond Knob Trail: A shorter steeper descent. https://www.gaiagps.com/public/wsynCeZCPCnJYcgGpcHwnSg2 4. Big Hollow: Ridge top to Rowdy Finish! https://www.gaiagps.com/public/xHFe45wWNxr4kNGsAj8XP2KD 5. Heartbreak: The most technical finish! Steep climbs but the payoff is real! https://www.gaiagps.com/public/gnL1qO4EFV6mGAOnfbHY3shv -Riders will meet the van at the Hone Quarry Recreation area parking lot for pickup and shuttle back to the top of the mountain. -In the morning, park at the Hone Quarry Recreation area by 8:30am to be ready to go at 9:00.
