Earn a Shuttle Seat for Trail Work

Help Clear Trails with us and get a free pass on future shuttle rides!

  • Rockingham County

Service Description

Come to one of our trail work days and you'll earn a free ride on a future open shuttle! The trails in the National Forest don't clear themselves! In fact it's almost only volunteers that do any work in the forest on the trails you ride! Put in 4-6 hours of trail work with us and get a pass to a day of shuttles. If you go above and beyond that we'll hook you up with another pass. Trail work days are "work!". That means you will be hiking down (maybe up) mountains with tools in hand. You'll need to bring gloves, eyeglasses, and closed toe shoes. We'll provide tools and additional PPE like helmets. If you have your own favorite tools, you are welcome to bring them. Let us know in the question form what you are bringing so we can travel lighter! Typical Jobs: +Brushing back overgrowth. Metal Blade Weedeater. +"Swamping" Moving the cut brush off the trail. Leaf Rake and Lopper +Benching trail. Using a Rogue Hoe to re-establish lost trail. +Lopping Nubs of cut brush and overhanging branches. Lopper +Chainsawing: Only for those Sawer Certified. Days start between 9 and 10am and go until you need to leave! If you only work 2 hours, we'll keep track and add up your time to your next trail effort day. Sign up for one of our pre-planned work days here! If you want to put together an independent work day and earn credits contact us for a conversation! Seats are first come first serve! Also! Don't forget to tip your shuttle driver even with a free pass!
